Dale Bittinger, Assistant Vice Provost at UMBC, has been in higher education for over 25 years. In 2007, the Chronicle of Higher Education named him as one of the “Ten Influential Admissions Deans/Directors” in the country. He is currently the Chair of the Common App Board of Directors. He previously was on the Executive Board of the Potomac and Chesapeake Association of College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), where he chaired the Admissions Practices Committee, as well as was an Assembly Delegate for the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC). He previously served on the College Board’s Admissions and Enrollment Services Advisory Group and the College Board’s Regional Council. He is also currently the Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Roland Park Country School, an all-girls independent school in Baltimore. In 2015, he completed the Leadership Baltimore County program. He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University and a Master of Public Policy in Public Policy from UMBC. He and his wife reside in Towson with their three daughters where he is also active in coaching girls’ youth sports.
