Announcements

Dear Members of the UMBC Community,

We are delighted to inform you that in July 2019, UMBC will be upgrading its student information system, Student Administration (SA), from its current PeopleSoft 9.0 version to the latest PeopleSoft 9.2 version.

The upgrade process is being facilitated in two phases: 1) upgrading the system to the 9.2 version and 2) identifying functional enhancements that will improve business processes for students, faculty and staff.

The first phase of the upgrade will occur over the week of July 4th to ensure minimal impact on faculty and students.  This first phase includes delivery of a new user interface however this interface will be introduced only to administrative offices at this time.  While we are ahead of our implementation schedule and feel confident about our go-live plan and readiness, we have added technical support to be available, if needed.

The second phase consists of identifying functional enhancements that can improve business processes for students, faculty and staff. The major enhancements in academic year 2019-2020 will focus on improving business processes in the enrollment service units including transfer credit evaluation.

Beginning fall 2019, we will engage faculty and staff advisory groups and academic and administrative departments and units to share opportunities for additional SA enhancements. These conversations with stakeholders will guide the next stages of the implementation plan and the rollout for these changes.

For more information, please visit the CS 9.2 upgrade site.  For questions, contact Arnold Foelster, Senior Director, Enterprise Systems, at foelster@umbc.edu or Ralph Caretti, Director of Enrollment Management  IT Systems and Services at caretti@umbc.edu.
